I *heart* hair!

We're getting ready for Valentine's Day around here . . . what? Yes, I know it's still January. However, one of my best girls, an old roommate from SUU, Kelly, loves Valentine's. It's her favorite holiday. And about a thousand heart-shaped sugar cookies later, I started loving it, too. Eight years later, it's still fun. (Pssst . . . I'll share a secret with you: It's waaaaay more fun when you have a Valentine! The kind that you can kiss whenever you want, but especially on February 14th.)

So, where was I? Oh yeah, we're decorating with hearts and stuff around here, that that has extended to our hair. Did you think I had stopped experimenting with Katie's hair? No, I just am too lazy to get the camera out most days. But this is a camera-worthy hairdo, perfect for your long-haired little Valentine, that I got from this hair blog. It was way easier than I thought, and it stayed in for two and a half days! (Again, I am really lazy, but it really did still look good the second day.) Katie was so sad when I took it out before I bathed her today. I promised her we'd do it again in a couple of weeks. And maybe while we're at it, I'll paint little hearts on our nails . . .

Well, I do love Valentine's Day! Though I will be without my darling this year on the actual day, we will celebrate a couple of weeks late. I will have to post my latest heart creations. I love the hair! I wonder what I would have to do to get my little one to sit still for that long?

Love it! What a cute idea! How did you get Katie to sit still when she was Savanna's age? I feel like there is a lot I could do with her hair if I had more than 1 minute!

Very impressive. Lately my girls are lucky to have their hair done at all. We're into simplicity since we are drowning in hair!

Wow, that is pretty intricate! Very cute and festive too! I couldn't even imagine spending that much time on hair. I can't even get Mindy to sit still long enough to do much. I did get Elle's hair into pig-tails today so I feel like that's an accomplishment!

Valentine's Day IS much better when you have a Valentine. I always used to celebrate "Single Awareness Day" instead.

This only took about 15 minutes. The trick for Katie is to let her choose a hairstyle from the pictures on the hair blogs, then let her watch clips of Nick Jr (online--nickjr.com, then click on "playtime") while I do it.

When she was littler (Savanna's age) she liked to sit on my bathroom counter and play with my makeup brushes or "do" her baby doll's hair (with her own comb and sharing my spray bottle). Even still, her dos were limited to 5 minutes, max.

That is adorable, Rachel! Nice work. I am too lazy to even attempt that on Grace's hair. :)
