Sick Day

Katie has been sick for two days with the fever-runny nose-headache-etc yuckiness. Poor girl. Almost nothing gets her down, but here she is in the middle of the day, still in her pjs, fast asleep on the couch: After alternating Tylenol and Ibuprofin off and on over the last two days, here's hoping we wake up fever-free tomorrow . . .

I sure hope she wakes up feeling better. Feeling this sick is no fun!

You can always tell a kid is really sick when they just lay there all day. Poor Katie. Poor little Elle's been sick too. She was almost at 104 last night, but seems to be feeling better today. I hope Katie is too! That is no fun at all.

Even on a sick day her hair looks perfect!!!

Shelli, I have you to thank for that, at least indirectly! That "headband" has been in for four days, and still looks the same. I just brush and pull back the rest of the hair, and it all stays out of her eyes (and snot) for the rest of the day.

Rachel, so sorry to hear sickness has come to your home! You asked for my recipe for homemade oreos so here it is:

For the Cookie:
2 Chocolate Devils Food Cake Mixes
1 cup of oil
4 eggs

Mix all together until smooth.

For Frosting:
2 1/2 cups of powdered sugar
1/4 cup of soft butter
8 oz. package of cream cheese, softened
tiny bit of water
food coloring if you want

Just beat together until the consistency you want.

To make cookie, roll dough into small balls, place on greased cookie sheet, cook for 8-10 minutes in 350 degree oven! I usually cook mine for 9 minutes and they turn out perfect. Then ice the cookie, put the top on and voila, a homemade oreo! Enjoy!
