Happy Birthday to Max!

Max turned 2 on October 27 . . . and I am just now getting to posting about it. Yeah, I'm a little sleep deprived. And although this is a late and lazy tribute to him, I don't want to not celebrate my amazing little guy.

We celebrated his birthday with family Saturday morning with a cake (that Max picked out at the store himself) and red and blue balloons. He got lots of fun presents from his family that he hasn't stopped playing with since--especially his very own 2-wheel trainer bike which no one else is allowed to touch!

Max is our busy little man, always into something, and very independent.  His vocabulary has exploded the last couple of months, and he has gone from reluctant one-word mumbles to short sentences very quickly. He is also starting to master his colors by pointing out trucks while we drive. Katie has been his mentor, surrogate mother, and best friend since the day he was born, and he idolizes her and "Say-us" (Isaiah).  He makes lots of messes because, unfortunately for us, he learns by dumping things out, taking things apart, and testing things to see how best to break them.  He is very physical, constantly running, jumping, climbing, kicking, throwing, and, sadly, pushing, hitting, pinching, and biting.  But because he's so physical he's very coordinated at large motor activities, and can already use a two-wheel scooter better than his mom.  He also gives excellent hugs and is great at burping his baby sister.

He is going to love us for this someday ;)  In my defense, Adam took the picture . . . but isn't it great?!

Favorite things: bikes, strollers, trucks, drinks of water and milk, cups, "uppies" (dogs), blankies, markers, Silly Banz, shoes (because putting them on means he can "go"--anywhere), jumping on the trampoline, and following his big sibs and their friends around, "Popcorn Popping," and "I Am a Child of God"

People he prays for, in the order he prays for them:
Katie
Daddy
Momma
"Gramma" (Grandma Linda)
"Grampa" (Grandpa Doug)
Porter

Other people he loves:
"Say-us" (Isaiah)
"Willy" (Lily)
"Helli" (Shelli)
"Amry" (Kamry)
"Bubbles"/"Gramma" (Grandma Bubbles)
"Game" (Gabe)
"Kuk" (Kirk)

We love our Max!  Happy birthday, Big Boy!

Phew! Sounds like my Luke, only busier. I can't believe he's riding scooters and bikes already! Crazy! Hope he had a great b-day!

Wow, can't believe it's been 2 years since you had him! I'm glad Max had a great birthday. (And that picture is a great bargaining chip...)
